Don’t show bias in mourning the dead: Shatrughan Sinha

Times of India - 8/12/08
Patna: Cine actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha has lauded the role of Mumbaikars in holding a rally at the Gateway of India and lighting candles in front of the Taj and Oberoi hotels to protest the terror attacks in Mumbai. But he expressed surprise that such condolences were not offered at CST where the terrorists struck first and the maximum number of people were killed. “Why were such condolences held only in front of the Taj? These were organised by event managers with participants wearing T-shirts provided by the sponsors. Why did no celebrity go to CST to condole the death of several innocent people,’’ he asked. But he also had a reply for it: “Because the people killed at CST were poor and mainly north Indians’’. Sinha was also critical of celebrities and professionals for speaking against politicians. “Why do they forget bureaucrats and security officials who were equally responsible?’’
